900+ On Hand to Celebrate Opening of New Cumbayá Worship Center

Celebrating the inaugural service in the Cumbaya Church’s new 900-seat worship center in Quito, Ecuador.

On March 6, 2016, the Cumbayá Church held the inaugural service in its new 900-seat worship center.

CMI Executive Director Craig Murray and other CMI team members were on hand for the momentous occasion. Pastor David Smith of the Fairhaven Church in Dayton, Ohio (a longstanding partner with CMI in Quito) preached the inaugural sermon.

Among those attending were the senior pastors of five other Encounter with God churches in Quito working to advance the multiplication of churches throughout the city.

The new worship center marks the completion of the Cumbayá’s major facility development and increases the capacity of the church by nearly 200%. With 900 presently attending and with an estimated 30 new people joining each month, the church intends to continue meeting in double services in the new facility to provide space for continued growth.

The church will soon be entering a new stage of development as it prepares to become an engine for reproducing daughter churches throughout the city.
