God’s Blessing in Quito

Catalytic Partnerships: Lunch with CMI teammates and colleagues from three partner churches at the 2015 MissioNexus Conference in Orlando, Florida.

Thank you for your prayers and support for CMI! We are incredibly grateful as it helps ignite, unite and equip urban churches to impact Latin American cities with the hope of Jesus Christ.

Recently I returned from a visit to Quito, Ecuador and can report that God is blessing our work together in remarkable ways.

  • Churches are growing in numbers and in maturity.
  • Bible Academy discipleship and leadership training programs are flourishing.
  • Construction on the new 960-seat worship center for the Cumbaya Church is in its final stages with an anticipated inauguration date on March 6.
  • The newest Encounter Church in Quito is now over 1,000 in weekly attendance.

But undoubtedly the most encouraging part of my visit was the time I shared at a CMI-sponsored retreat with five pastoral couples leading five key churches in Quito. For two days, we engaged God’s Word and prayed for one another. We deepened our friendships and reaffirmed our shared calling to see Quito experience an Encounter with God.

God is clearly at work through our partnership together. Your prayers and support are helping establish dynamic churches, that in the Lord’s hands, will multiply and extend the hope of the gospel to millions in Latin America.

In Christ,
